Introduction to St Luke’s School
Welcome to our website. St Luke’s is a diverse community where children are encouraged to explore and celebrate individuality, and to build upon who they are to achieve success. Our school is welcoming, happy and caring. In keeping with our Christian foundation we focus on personal qualities through the values we teach, to establish the relationships necessary to succeed both socially and intellectually. Our pupils become good communicators, with a ‘have a go’ attitude, and the confidence to learn from their mistakes and move onwards.
St Luke’s School promotes and develops its distinctive nature as a Church of England Aided School in partnership with its Parish, The Church Schools Trust and the Diocese of Ely. The school shares with the other Church primary schools in the Diocese of Ely the following ethos statement: Recognising its historic foundation, the school will preserve and develop its religious character in accordance with the principles of the Church of England and in partnership with the Church at parish and diocesan level. The school aims to serve its community by providing an education of the highest quality within the context of Christian belief and practice. It encourages an understanding of the meaning and significance of faith, and promotes Christian values through the experience it offers all pupils.
My vision for St Luke’s future is to accelerate the development of this successful 21st century school so that we prepare every child in our community to make a success of his or her life. I believe that all children, regardless of their background, have the right to achieve and succeed, not just academically, and to become well rounded, healthy, happy human beings.
I firmly believe in an open door policy and would urge parents to contact me with any concerns no matter how small. A successful education is the culmination of home and school working together, so it is important to ensure that communication is a two way process.
